Words can't express how simply and powerfully he conveyed this information. However, he also told us that he took comfort in the knowledge that once the wait was over, their time apart would seem like the blinking of an eye. He said his only impatience with the situation was that she got to go first. He understood that God's purpose for leaving him behind, was so that he could share their story. He received his on this side of the grave, and she received hers as she passed away. They prayed, and they both received healing miracles from God. Several years before, he and his wife had both been diagnosed with terminal cancer. I'm not always good at this, but I try to be mindful of the attitude I saw in an elderly dutchman about 20 years ago. It's bitterly hard when a loved one passes away after prayers for healing, but I try to remember that even the people Christ raised from the dead had to die again before they received their final reward.
